Bow Ties!

Good Monday morning!  I had to share my weekend project with you! Bow ties! I took my son and his friends fabric shopping for bow ties.  This is one of the completed ties! Now for the boys to learn how to tie them!  I will be offering ties for sale in my shop soon.  I can't legally sell ties made from licensed team fabric, but if you are interested in a particular team,  you may purchase the fabric yourself, and I will only charge labor costs.  ($5) Please go to TheBluebirdsNest and leave me a message by clicking on ask seller a question or leave a comment below. Feature Friday

Yay!! It's Friday!  Today I am featuring my chicken potholder!
Isn't she sweet?  I have one sitting on the back of my stove and one by my counter top oven. They are not only adorable, but multifunction as great hand protection.   Simply grab her by her back and ta-da!  The double layer insulates your hand from scorching hot pans.

Fabric Flower

Wow! We are to Thursday already! ! The week has flown by! I hope you have accomplished much. :)   I'm thinking of making an accent pillow for my living room.   I want to add some texture to my pillow... so I did a quick search on making flowers.   I'm liking this little flower!  The great tutorial on how to do it is here.  Have fun!  I'd love to see what you make with this quick and easy project! I'll post a pic of my pillow when I get it done!

A New Week

A new week! I know, I know... most people don't like Mondays.  Maybe it's the thought of a long week stretching out before the next weekend, or the thought of rolling out of bed to the same mundane tasks. I sometimes feel like that too.  Especially when there are a lot of tasks to complete in my week.  Today I'm choosing to look at this new week as a blessing....because it really is! :-) We were made to work; and we can find much joy in even small accomplishments! Take one moment at a time and enjoy the gift! Keep moving forward!  Focus on the task at hand and at the end of the day, be thankful for what you were able to do!  Remember, find joy in the little things!

Feature Friday

A little owl friend (on both sides) is sure to make you smile! Spring

Hooray!! Spring is here! I had a dream last night that my clematis were blooming and I was worried about frost! I suppose that could happen, but I am so glad to see the sun! And even though it us still chilly outside, the air just has a different feel to it! I think my favorite part of spring is watching the trees begin to bud. Those tiny pale green baby leaves begin pushing out of their winter jackets and stretch toward the warm sun. What's your favorite part of spring?

End of Winter!

We're back to a pile of snow, but thankfully it's the last day if winter!! I repeat...the official last day of winter is today! See the icicles? That means we've been melting! We've noticed some birds migrating back... no robins yet, but I'm sure they'll be here soon. :) I think I'll celebrate by going for a walk! How will you celebrate?

Sharing Your Feelings

It's a balmy 26° here! Quite windy but sunny. Today I was just thinking of the importance of speaking our feelings. Communication is so important! We as Scandinavian Americans don't always like to show our feelings. But our feelings are what move us to action! Clearly and honestly share with your loved ones how much they mean to you! :-)
